RULES

"The making of a great compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do and takes ages longer than it might seem. You gotta kick off with a killer, to grab attention. Then you got to take it up a notch, but you don't wanna blow your wad, so then you got to cool it off a notch. There are a lot of rules." - Rob, High Fidelity

Welcome to Mixtape Revival. The point of this group is to bring back the art of making the perfect mix-tape. If you're perfectly fine throwing songs into a mix without considering tone, tempo or mood, then move along. Otherwise, hi! And welcome.

RULES:

1. One Rocker and two Revivalists will be chosen by random each month. People cannot be repeatedly chosen until everyone has had at least one chance to be the Rocker. Then, the process restarts.
2. If you are chosen as the Rocker and Revivalists, you are REQUIRED to make a post about it. Revivalists, write about your thought process when making the CD, song lists, photos, etc. Rocker - post photos, impressions, critiques, remixes, etc.
3. Avoid Top-40 remixes. It's fine if the theme calls for a top-40 song, or if certain songs just speak to you, but we don't want to just re-hash radio station lineups.
4. Participation mandatory! Well, not really. But it's more fun that way. Don't be a party pooper.
5. Alternate mix-swaps are encouraged. Daily mixes are encouraged. Just general music-related conversation is encouraged. Actually, any and all conversation is encouraged.
6. Everyone can, at any point, make a request for a personal mix. Going through a break-up? Request a mix for it. Need some traveling tunes? Request a mix.
